Biofilms Infecting our Drinking Water –

Biofilms and Dental Health –

Biofilms form all around us and are attributed to illnesses and deaths every year. Here are a few stats from Montana State Anniversary.

13,000 – Deaths a year JUST from urinary catheters.

108,000 – Amputations due to diabetic ulcers caused by biofilms.

These stats do not account for the other associated impact biofilms have on our health. I cannot overstate the importance of good dental hygiene as it relates to overall health. This oral hygiene is also important in the health of our pets.

Consider this. Poor oral hygiene leads to poor “gut” microbiome. Poor gut microbiome leads to other health conditions.

The growing list of conditions that correspond with changes in the microbes of our gut includes type 2 diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and a variety of cancers.

Your microbiome affects your body from the moment of your birth and throughout your life by controlling the digestion of food, immune system, central nervous system and other bodily processes.

This means Biofilms affect your mind, body and spirit!

How do you created a healthy microbiome?

It all goes back to – You are what you eat.

* A good diet consisting of cooked and raw whole unprocessed foods are a good start.

* Eliminate or limit your meat consumption.

* Stay away from fried foods.

* Don’t eat foods that contain visible mold.  Eliminate or at least severely limit your sugar and alcohol intake.

* Drink clean properly filtered water.

* Brush and floss your teeth daily.

You get one life with one body, take care of it and it will take care of you!
